This May marks the beginning of the second chapter of the prologue to Marvel's Avengers. The Mighty Thor! Chris Hemsworth (Star Trek) wields the mighty hammer of the Odin-Son. The film also stars Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Anthony Hopkins as Odin, and Tom Hiddleston as Loki.
When I saw the first few photos of Hemsworth as Thor, the first thing I thought to myself was "Why did they pick someone who's so skinny?" Which is pretty messed up seeing as how he buffed up quite a bit to prepare for the role. I suppose it was just a stubborn part of my mind not accepting the fact that no one as large and bulky as the actual Thor can be as good as an actor as Chris Hemsworth. It seemed every time a new photo was revealed I had something to nit pick. The costume, the other Asgardians, even the hammer itself. I finally stopped, sat back, and really brought my attention to how everything worked together in the film as a whole. And I must say that not only do I love how it all looks together as a film, but I can see Hemsworth's Thor eventually fighting along side Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man and Chris Evan's Captain America. Since I know nothing about the story or History of Thor, I'll just say it was interesting enough to grab my attention. Looks to be a thumbs up.
